Thank you Net Galley for an ARC of Paradise Peak by Janet Dailey I have been reading her romances since a teenager She does not disappoint This novel moved me to tears Loved it! I love Janet Dailey's book and this one did not disappoint As you start reading this book, you can envision the town and scenery of Paradise Peak You can smell the acrid smoke in the air and you want everyone to be OK and their homes and businesses spared The main characters of this book are well developed, interesting, fun to spend time with and downright nice Take a few minutes to sit back and enjoy how neighbors are supposed to act, how people are supposed to treat one another, and share in the splendid details of this book Enjoy! @Download Book º Paradise Peak ë With a wildfire burning its way toward Paradise Peak, Tennessee, folks are drawing together to save the small mountain community Times like these can make a hero out of a man—no matter what dark secrets he carries in his heart A desire for absolution brought excon Travis Alden to Paradise Peak But when he finds honest work, along with a keen sense of belonging, he shelves his plan to unburden his guilty secret, instead working to rehabilitate a ranch—alongside the very people his transgressions hurt the most With the chance to create a haven for wildfire refugees, Travis seizes the opportunity to do good, to earn the respect his new boss shows him Only Travis doesn’t count on his feelings for his boss’s beautiful niece Hannah Newsome is a woman with a past as bleak as Travis’s—the kind of woman he should protect, not pursue But once the rugged loner sees her wariness turn to warmth, once he tastes the potent passion between them, all he can think about is having it all right here in Paradise Peak, with Hannah by his side This book hooked me from the beginning and left me crying at the end—not all from sadness because it is a happy ever after But it’s also a representation of real life, with real people who suffer, struggle, make mistakes, and the strength of love and forgiveness The author’s description of the fires on the mountain left me holding my breath, and could be a trigger for some with everything going on, but the emotional investment was well worth it to me I fell in love with the characters and loved everything about this book Highly recommended. Travis Miller arrives in Paradise Peak looking for peace and forgivenesses After twenty years in prison he wants to wants to atone for his past He meets Red and he offers a place for the night in exchange for cleaning his fish. I honestly did not expect to shed a tear at the final scenes But it was really quite touching I liked the second chance at love and second chances at life theme of this book.Still not as good as some of the Janet Daileys I have read in the past, but I enjoyed most of it.Thank you Netgalley and Kensington books for the ARC This is my honest review. Book Five in the New Americana series is about Travis an excon and the woman he falls in love with Hannah It is a very well written book about forgiveness, redemption and love Kept my attention the whole way through Loved the storyline and how the characters interact Well worth reading. review to come Travis is an excon, released from prison after a twenty year sentence for killing a woman while driving drunk Now he is hitchhiking through Tennessee to find the mother of the woman he killed and apologize He is willing to do whatever he can for forgiveness After being picked up by a kind old man and taken to his ranch, he discovers the woman he's been looking for, Margaret, is coowner of the Paradise Peak ranch Fearing being turned away, he lies about his identity in order to help rebuild her ranch Hannah, Red's niece, also lives at the ranch and as he helps her to rebuild, he starts to fall in love with her But if he finally reveals his true identity, he risks losing what feels like the only family he's ever known I really liked the description of Travis as a gentle giant, determined to change his life and become a better man I loved how he became a hero during the forest fire The slow build of a relationship between him and Hannah from suspicion to friendship to love addedrealism to the story This is my first book by this author , but it certainly won't be the last I look forward to reading the first books in the series I received a complimentary copy of this book through NetGalley The views and opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.
